Below is a comprehensive timeline of events that I found to be revolutionary/interesting in the development of computers. I feel that without these events happening, many software &amp; hardware developments in history would not have been possible at all. This is prevalent in learning both the software and hardware of computers as having all this information can provide heavy insight as to how everything we use came to be. A clear case of this has to do with the standardization of many applications and pieces of technology, with an example being the PDF, &quot;Unlike traditional PostScript, which was tightly focused on rendering print jobs to output devices, IPS would be optimized for displaying pages to any screen and any platform.&quot; (Wikipedia) Due the versatility of PDF, it allowed for needed revolution regarding formatting, and goes to show how one big change is important to this day. The following events in the timeline are also reflections of this and how important the building blocks of technology are.
