Yes, all new StoryMaps accounts start with a free trial of the Premium plan. This means that everyone gets experience creating stories with all of the great StoryMaps features and customization options.

Yes, for 30 days you will have full access to StoryMaps. During the free trial, you will be able to create themes and add them to your stories and collections. You’ll also be able to choose from all of the visibility options (public, private, and unlisted) when you publish your content.

Yes, the payment process is secure. The StoryMaps team takes security very seriously. StoryMaps uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) to protect all website communications. StoryMaps does not handle your credit card information directly. This data goes through a third-party payment processor to ensure the security and privacy of your transaction. All authentication you provide to complete your transaction is processed and protected.

When upgrading to a Premium plan, you can choose a monthly or yearly subscription and the initial payment is processed at the time of purchase. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically at end of each billing cycle. Yearly subscriptions do not automatically renew; if you choose to renew your subscription before it expires, the payment will be processed at the end of the billing cycle. Absolutely! After your free trial, you can decide which plan you would like based on your needs and preferred level of access: Basic or Premium. Accounts with the Basic plan can subscribe to Premium at any time. Premium subscribers can cancel their subscription at any time and will be downgraded to Basic at the end of their current billing cycle.

There are currently no time limits or subscription requirements for published stories. As long as you have an active StoryMaps account, your content will be available online.

StoryMaps is ad-free, though stories published from accounts on the Basic plan have StoryMaps branding in the header and footer and a section at the end that recommends more StoryMaps content. The StoryMaps branding and the recommended content section are removed from stories published by Premium subscribers.

The StoryMaps team evaluates pricing annually and will advise customers of any changes with ample notification
